Even if this is a fictitious scenario, it shows a real option for Switzerland.

Especially with the current high petrol prices, a gradual transition to E10 can make a pragmatic contribution to reducing CO₂ without additional infrastructure and with the existing vehicle fleet. E10 is also part of the current petrol standard SN EN 228 and its introduction is technically possible.

Although the decision is fictitious today, it shows the potential of simple, cost-efficient solutions such as E10.

The Swiss Biofuels Association will continue to campaign for renewable fuels after 1 April.
