New versions of the fuel standards

News from the standardisation committee NK102! Last week, the latest versions of the two most important fuel standards petrol and diesel were published:  

• Fuels - Unleaded petrol fuels - Requirements and test methods SN EN 228_2026_2.edition_en
• The new version includes references to new measurement methods and minor changes to the minimum values for distillation curves.   

• Fuels - Diesel fuel - Requirements and test methods SN EN 590_2026_2.edition_en
• There are minor changes to the previous versions: Among other things, the minimum density for diesel fuel has been reduced. 

An update of the biodiesel standard SN EN14212 is also expected this year. Due to improved results from the ring tests of various laboratories, some acceptance values will be tightened.
