127 new MAN buses for Oslo - fuelled with 100 % biodiesel

With immediate effect, 127 new MAN Lion's City buses are on the roads of Oslo and the neighbouring regions. The Norwegian bus company Unibuss purchased three different models from the traditional German manufacturer, which are to be used in local public transport and offer up to 57 seats per bus. The buses will be fuelled exclusively with biodiesel. The D2066 LUH diesel engine and a 290 hp D0836 engine, which comply with the Euro 6d emissions standard, provide the necessary propulsion. The Norwegian company chose the biodiesel-powered MAN Lion's City buses primarily in order to realise its ambitious climate targets. This is because the biodiesel used as fuel causes up to 90 % fewer greenhouse gas emissions than conventional diesel, according to Øystein Svendsen, CEO of Unibuss.
