"The future of flight begins" - First Atlantic flight with sustainable fuel.

According to the British government, this is the first time that a passenger aircraft powered entirely by SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) has flown across the Atlantic. "The future of flying begins", announced the Ministry of Transport in London on Tuesday.

Virgin Atlantic's Boeing 787 Dreamliner took off from London's Heathrow Airport for New York on Tuesday lunchtime. The industry is under pressure due to climate change. According to estimates, aviation accounts for around 2.5 per cent of global CO₂ emissions each year - more than Germany, which is one of the ten biggest CO₂ emitters in the world.
