Petrol stations make way for green fuel

29 July 2024

There will soon be a more ecological version of diesel. However, this could mean that conventional variants will no longer be available.

The automotive industry is working on new eco-fuels. The so-called e-petrol made from green electricity and CO2 with a price of five francs per litre. However, the new diesel fuel HVO100 is on the verge of a breakthrough.

HVO100: That's what it's all about

  • HVO100 produces up to 90 per cent less CO2 than conventional diesel.
  • However, synthetic fuel is also up to 19 centimes more expensive.
  • Now petrol stations in Germany and soon also in Switzerland are converting.
