Markus Wilke, an environmental scientist from Ticino, and Marcel Caminada, an energy engineer from Graubünden, have developed a new technology that makes it possible to burn so-called biogenic fuels such as purified used cooking oil in conventional oil-fired heating systems with low emissions. This technology has been successfully tested by the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) for compliance with the Ordinance on Air Pollution Control of 16 December 1985 (OAPC; SR 814.318.142.1).
