Media release of the UREK-N of 18 January 2022
The Commission would like to develop a new model for the promotion of biogenic and renewable synthetic fuels. Specifically, a blending obligation is to apply from 2025, combined with temporary tax breaks and the option of counting the use of biogenic and renewable synthetic fuels towards the CO₂ fleet emissions regulation. To this end, the Commission unanimously adopted the Commission initiative 22.402 submitted. The parliamentary initiative 21.466 has been withdrawn by the author in favour of the new Commission initiative.
