Commissioning of the second Super E20 petrol pump in Germany

With the commissioning of the second Super E20 petrol pump in Germany, Giessen has set an important milestone for the sustainable transformation of the transport sector. The project impressively demonstrates how climate protection measures can already be implemented pragmatically and without major infrastructural effort.

E20 - a fuel with a bioethanol content of 20 per cent - enables a direct reduction in CO₂ emissions. The bioethanol used is largely climate-neutral, as the biomass used has absorbed the corresponding amount of CO₂ from the atmosphere during its growth. E20 therefore offers an immediately available solution for reducing emissions in existing buildings.
